Machined, So You Aren't

Cutting hinge mortises on site is slow, and a mortise in the wrong place is a frame you have to replace. We machine them in the shop to the exact leaf size and position you specify, so the frame arrives ready for hardware.

You tell us four things and we take care of the rest:

  • Corner style — rounded to suit standard radius hinges, or square for crisp, hand-finished corners (same price)
  • Leaf size — the height and width of each hinge leaf, from 3½″ to 5″
  • Hinge count — two for a standard interior door, three for heavier or taller slabs
  • Hardware — supply your own hinges, or have matching ones shipped with the frame

Paint Grade or Show Grade

Primed finger-jointed pine is stable, affordable and ready for paint. Birch, oak, maple, ash and walnut are available when the jamb is meant to be seen.

One Flat Price Per Height

80″, 84″ and 96″ frames all cost the same. Specify the height your opening actually needs without it driving up the price.
